The 46 of 46 Podcast is an outdoors storytelling podcast based in the largest protected wilderness area in the continental United States, a 6-million acre forever wild forest preserve known as the Adirondack Park in northern New York. The podcast chronicles my days on the trails here in the Adirondacks (and beyond) in a unique trip-report style format that is equal parts entertainment, trail information, and stories.
My entire Adirondack 46’er journey is chronicled start-to-finish in season 1, while Season 2 takes the listener through the cold, snowy, winter days on the trail as I hiked all 9 peaks that make up the Lake Placid 9‘er. Season 3 had me on many other mountains In the ADK in both summer and winter, while in Season 4 I took the listener with me as I backpacked the 138-mile Northville-Placid Trail start-to-finish.
The 46 of 46 Podcast however also includes episodes entitled “Summit Sessions” which enjoy a more standard-format conversational episodes with a guest where we discuss various outdoors and Adirondacks topics, along with the occasional spooky Adirondack Campfire Story episode for a little campfire fun!
I’m James and I’m the host of The 46 of 46 Podcast. I live here in the heart of the Adirondack Park in Lake Placid, New York. I am a New York State Licensed Guide for hiking and camping, I love this Park, these mountains, and telling stories and I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my adventures and stories from the ADK backcountry!
When I’m not out on the trail I’m either at work swinging around a microphone in the film/television industry, inside the squat rack, or home with my wife and three girls.
I lead a simple life.
